This piece is based on the book “I, Pierre Rivière, Having Slaughtered My Mother, My Sister, and My Brother – A Case of Parricide in the Nineteenth Century”, edited by Michel Foucault. The book includes the discussions on the juridical case of a young man who murdered his mother, sister and brother, the court records, medical reports, statements made by witnesses, and most importantly, the “memoirs” written by the murderer himself. |
